Jordan's King Abdullah II has approved a cabinet reshuffle in the government.

Abdullah authorized on Wednesday a raft of changes to the cabinet proposed by Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, with eight new ministers introduced and five swapping posts, a statement from the Royal Court said.

Incoming ministers took office with an inauguration ceremony in Raghadan Palace, while 13 ministers remained unchanged, the statement said.
