US Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Jordan on Sunday for a short official visit during which he will meet with King Abdullah II to discuss developments of Palestinian-Israeli peace talks, diplomatic sources said.

Kerry is expected to head to Saudi Arabia later on Sunday to meet with King Abdullah for talks.

Israel Radio said earlier that the top US diplomat plans to return to the Middle East for talks with Palestinians and Israelis.

The radio considered Kerry's visits to both Jordan and Saudi Arabia as an indication to his success in reaching a "formidable vision" for the Middle East peace process.

Kerry visited Israel and Palestinian territories on Thursday in a new push for peace talks between the Palestinians and the Israelis.
