Leader of the Syrian Kurdish National Council (SUKUK) Abdulhakim Bessar has said that in case Assad regime would not collapse, a regional war might occur.
Attending the Istanbul World Forum, Bessar assessed the situation in Syria and shared his point of view with Anadolu Agency.
He stated that Syria goes through a big tragedy and added that the regime slaughters people systematically.
Bessar stressed that the Syrian opponents are responsible from the still existence of the regime and said, "Despite all the massacre in the country, why do some groups support Assad- It is because of that opponents are not able present security and good enough to meet the demands of some groups."
He made a unity call for all the regional powers against Syrian regime and added, "In the scope of stopping the bloodshed, all regional powers should work together. If Assad regime does not collapse, a regional war may occur."
Bessar noted that Kurdish people in Syria fight for gaining their rights and said, "Firstly, the aim of revolution has to be understood. We wish to have a new Syria. All groups have to be treated equally."
