Lebanese President Michel Suleiman asked Prime Minister Hariri on Thursday to remain as head of a caretaker administration after the collapse of his government, the national news agency said.
The announcement came a day after Hezbollah ministers and their cabinet allies resigned from Hariri's government over disagreements about a U.N.-backed tribunal investigating the 2005 killing of Hariri's father.
