Ministers from the minority Istiqlal Party in the Moroccan coalition government announced thier resignaiton on Tuesday.

Morocco's Istiqlal Party (IP) said that it decided to withdraw from the Justice and Development Party (JDP)-led government and join the opposition.

Istiqlal Party's spokesperson Adil bin Hamza said all the ministers from the party except National Education Minister Muhammed el-Vefa had resigned.

The Prime Ministry has yet to make a statement.

The Istiqlal Party has 60 seats in the 395-seat Moroccan Parliament.
