More Turkish correspondents detained in Egypt

Turkish correspondent Fatih Er and cameraman Tufan Guzelgun from A News TV were detained Tuesday in Egyptian capital Cairo.

Both were returning from filming in Egypt's Nasr city together with Turkish state television's (TRT) team, where they were detained by the Egyptian police for not having an accreditation for Egypt's Foreign Press Center and no press cards.

Murat Uslu and Zafer Karakas, Turkish correspondents working in Egypt, were also detained by Egyptian security forces.

Turkish Star TV's Egypt correspondent Murat Uslu and cameraman Zafer Karakas were taken into custody by the security officials while shooting in the Egyptian capital Cairo.

Upon detention, the Turkish correspondents were reported to have called their colleagues and the corporation they work for.

The Turkish Embassy in Cairo stated that the investigation had been launched regarding the said incident and they were trying to determine where the two correspondents were.

The Embassy also informed that they contacted the Egyptian officials for the release of the Turkish correspondents.
