Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will establish a unit for "Peace, Security and Mediation".

In a written statement released on Wednesday, the OIC said that the new unit was almost completed based on a decision taken during the 39th Foreign Ministers' Summit in Djibouti last year.

The new unit will begin works at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah and aims to mediate on current problems. It will work with member countries as well as with local and international organizations.
