Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman held talks with Spain's King Juan Carlos, who arrived in Muscat on Tuesday for a three-day visit.
The talks focused on bilateral cooperation and issues of mutual concern, Oman's official news agency reported.
Muscat is King Carlos' first stop in a Gulf tour that will also take him to Bahrain.
The Spanish monarch's delegation includes Defense Minister Pedro Morenes; Public Works Minister Ana Pastor Julian; Industry, Energy and Tourism Minister Jose Manuel Soria; and other senior Spanish officials.
Earlier in April, Carlos made a two-day visit to Kuwait and held talks with Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The Spanish Foreign Ministry had announced that King Carlos also plans to visit Saudi Arabia and Qatar within the next few months.
Observers say the king's current tour hopes to draw Gulf investment to Spain as part of efforts to bolster the country's moribund economy.Last Mod: 30 Nisan 2014, 10:13
