A policeman was killed late on Monday in a "terrorist" attack in the Western Bahrain coastal village of Dumistan, the Bahraini Interior Ministry said.
It said on its Twitter account that the policeman had been killed as he did his work in the village.
The Interior Ministry noted that concerned agencies had started investigating the event, but it failed to clarify the nature of the presumed "terrorist" attack.
Two Bahraini policemen were killed in a bomb attack on November 25 as they did their work western the capital Manama.
Bahrain has been witnessing protests led by its Shiite opposition since 2011.
