At least 67 people, including five children and ten women, have reportedly been killed in heavy weapon attacks across Syria carried out by forces loyal to President Bashar Assad.
Eighteen people were killed in Aleppo, 16 in the suburbs of Damascus, 9 in Idlib, 6 each in Homs and Hama and 12 in other cities, the London-based Syria Network for Human Rights said on Saturday.
Meanwhile, opposition group Local Coordination Committees of Syria said regime forces carried out airstrikes on Hama, destroying residential areas in the opposition controlled parts of the city.
Syrian military helicopters dropped barrel bombs on Hama and fierce fighting took place between regime forces and the Free Syrian Army, the main opposition rebel force.
Syrian official news agency SANA reported that security forces killed many armed opposition fighters in operations across the country.
More than 140,000 people have been killed during the ongoing three-year conflict in Syria, according to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
