Saudi Arabia on Monday renewed support for Egypt, condemning "terrorist" acts in the Arab world's most populous state.
In a statement following a cabinet meeting, Minister of Culture and Information Prince Salman Bin Abdel Aziz al-Saud said the kingdom condemns "terrorist acts" in Egypt and those behind them.
He reiterated confidence that the Egyptian leadership and people "are able to thwart schemes targeting Egypt and its stability."
Egypt has been in turmoil since the military removed elected president Mohamed Morsi in July.
Riyadh was among the first Arab countries to welcome Morsi's ouster and offered billions of dollars in aid for the military-backed authorities.
Egyptian-Saudi relations strained during Morsi's one-year rule.Güncelleme Tarihi: 06 Ocak 2014, 17:09
