Saudi-led warplanes on Friday bombed a rocket-launching site in eastern Yemen's oil-rich Maarib province, a Yemeni military official has said.
"The dawn airstrikes have destroyed the site and its radar system," the official, requesting anonymity, told The Anadolu Agency.
He went on to say that operations at the key Safer oil field, located near the destroyed facility, have been suspended temporarily and that production would resume later on Friday.
Several Arab states have joined a Saudi-led offensive which kicked off late Wednesday with a string of airstrikes against the positions of the Shiite Houthi militant group in Yemen, including some in capital Sanaa.
Fractious Yemen has been in turmoil since last September, when the Shiite militants overran capital Sanaa, from which they have sought to extend their influence to other parts of the country as well.
