The ISIL terrorist group on Tuesday captured the village of Khanasir in Syria’s northeastern Aleppo province, according to local activists.
Abu Shadi al-Safarani, an Aleppo-based activist opposed to Syria’s Assad regime, told Anadolu Agency that 95 regime troops had been killed -- and scores others captured -- when ISIL took the village.
Meanwhile, Hussein Khattab, another anti-Assad Aleppo-based activist, said that pro-Assad websites had published the names and photos of scores of slain regime soldiers.
Video uploaded on pro-ISIL social-media platforms, meanwhile, showed the terrorist group seizing army tanks and anti-aircraft guns, along with light weapons.
The same websites asserted that the group had killed or captured 200 regime troops, adding that remaining troops had fled the village.
