A security official was killed and another injured Sunday in two separate attacks in central Yemen, security sources and eyewitnesses said.
A police station chief was gunned down and a companion injured in a shooting in Radaa town in Al-Bayda' province, the sources told Anadolu Agency.
Al-Bayda' has recently been the scene of intermitted deadly fighting between security forces and suspected Al-Qaeda-linked militants.
In another central province, a senior police officer was critically injured after being shot at by unknown assailants in front of his residence in Ibb, according to eyewitnesses.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for either attack and the Yemeni Interior Ministry is yet to comment on the reported incidents.
Yemen has remained in a state of relative chaos since the ouster of long-serving president Ali Abdullah Saleh in early 2012 as part of the "Arab Spring" uprisings.Last Mod: 02 Mart 2014, 17:10
