Since the Free Syrian Army moved its headquarters to Syria, Chairman of the Syrian National Council Sieda has arrived in the region and met opposition commandos in Aleppo.
Chairman of the Syrian National Council Sieda payed a challenging visit to Syria and met the Free Syrian Army commandos. During the meeting in Aleppo, opinions on the current developments were exchanged.
Abdulbaset Sieda entered Syria through Bab Al Hawa gate, which is across Cilvegözü border gate, and met the Free Syrian Army Aleppo and Idlib commandos. Economic support of the Free Syrian Army and details of the latest developments in the country were discussed at the meeting. Sieda reportedly visited Idlib's Eterip region and Aleppo after the meeting. Sieda announced that he discussed the steps to be made for the revolution and the people's benefit with the Free Syrian Army executives.
Sieda was accompanied by the Syrian National Council members and Head of the Free Syrian Army Higher Military Council brigadier general Mustafa Al Sheikh.
Sieda's visit is important as it is his first visit to Syria since June when he took the chair in the Syrian National Council.
It was suggested that the President of Syria Bashar al-Assad also visited Aleppo last week and held multiple meetings. Noticeably there was no video following the visit, even the state news agency SANA only published a written report. Chairman of the Syrian National Council Sieda's visit to Syria and his meetings with the opposition commandos was interpreted as a challenge.
