At least 512 people died in nine days in regime attacks by barrel bombs in various regions of Aleppo on Tuesday, said an opposition activist group.

Syrian Air Forces helicopters attacked rebel-held areas in Aleppo with barrel bombs, said Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR), a London-based group which tracks civilian and dissident casualties.

SNHR said it had documented all attacks from 15 December and the causalities which it said included 61 women and 132 children.

More than 136 barrel bombs used in attacks, SNHR said.

Turkey condemns Syrian regime's attacks

The Turkish Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the Syrian regime's air strikes on Aleppo.

The Ministry described the attacks as "inhumane", saying innocent civilians were killed and heavy damages were inflicted on the areas hit.

"These attacks show the brutality and inaptitude of the Syrian regime," the Ministry said.
