A Syrian mother Serife (65) living in Turkey's southern town of Islahiye united with her son on the Mother's Day after a period of one year.
Serife's son Mahmood ran away from the Syrian military and arrived in Turkey Sunday.
Many Syrians staying in Islahiye got emotional after seeing mother Serife unite with her son Mahmood.
Mahmood told journalists that he was serving in the Syrian military and fled to Turkey in order "not to kill fellow Syrians in the cities of Idlib and Dara".
Mahmood showed his Syrian military ID card to the journalists in Islahiye.
Meanwhile, 342 more Syrians arrived in Islahiye on Sunday.
