The Muslim Brotherhood in Syria is expected to announce the formation of their political parties in Istanbul in the coming days.
According to reports in the Sharq ul-Aswad newspaper, the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood is expected to name their party WAAD, an abbreviation for the National Justice and Constitution Party.
The leader of the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood, Ali Sadruddin Al-Bayanuni, said that Dr. Muhammad Walid would be the party’s head. They have also said that a Christian would be selected as an assistant, following the example of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.
The party would abide by parliamentary rules. Al-Bayanuni stated that the party will be open to provide freedom and democracy for all Syrian people.
