Turkish Ambassador in Cairo Huseyin Avni Botsali said, "The evacuation isn't the matter of subject, yet we have preparations for an extraordinary situation" in regards to the evacuation of Turkish citizens in Egypt.
Botsali assessed the latest developments in Egypt to Anadolu Agency as the country's army ousted the first democratically elected president Mohammed Morsi.
"We have made warnings to Turkish citizens before the incidents took their current situation. The evacuation isn't the matter of subject at the moment, yet we have preparations for an extraordinary situation. As of today, there aren't any worrying situations like in 2011. A state will have an emergency preparation in the case of an extraordinary situation. Our state has the capabilities."
"No physical threats on Turkey"
Turkish Ambassador Botsali noted that the latest incidents did not bring an image of extraordinary threat and said, "At least, there isn't a physical danger which aims at Turkey. Apart from that we keep renewing our warnings about the incidents."
He also mentioned that Turkish Airlines' flights to Egypt run as usual as the Egyptian airports also continue serving.
