Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said Tuesday that the political and economic relations between Turkey and Qatar would improve significantly in the future.

In his two-day visit to Qatar, Arinc visited the headquarters of the Doha-based media outlet Al-Jazeera and met senior Qatari officials.

He also delivered a speech at the Turkish Embassy in Doha and stressed Turkey's readiness to follow any opportunity to strengthen the “friendly and brotherly” relations between Turkey and Qatar in different areas such as economy. 

He said Turkey emerged as a popular destination for Qatari tourists in 2013 with more than 20,000 Qatari citizens visiting the country.
