West shouldn't dogmatize democracy to world, says minister

Turkey's Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis, referring to the July 3 military coup in Egypt, said, " the West, which could not describe the military coup in Egypt as a military coup, should not dogmatize democracy to the world."

Baris hoped for Egyptians that Egypt would immediately return to a democratic system and they would be able to elect their new leader with their free will.

Bagis stressed that the West's double standards on the latest developments in Egypt should be particularly dwelled on.

Bagis said that a military coup had been conducted before the eyes of the world, adding, "Whomever, right or left, conservative or secular, should not be overthrown with a military coup."
