The Israeli army has detained three school students in the southern West Bank, the Palestinian Education Ministry said Tuesday.
According to a ministry statement, the three students were detained after being beaten by Jewish settlers while on their way to the Ibrahimiya School in the West Bank city of Al-Khalil (Hebron).
"The army detained the three students after security forces found a compass in one of their bags," the ministry asserted.
Two of the detained students are in seventh grade while the third is in eighth grade, it added.
The Israeli army has yet to comment on the ministry's assertions.
Al-Khalil is home to roughly 160,000 Palestinians and some 400 armed Jewish settlers. The latter live in several Jewish-only enclaves heavily guarded by Israeli army troops.Güncelleme Tarihi: 03 Mart 2015, 15:06
