Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's special envoy Nabil Shaath has said that al-Fatah would like Khaled Mashal, Hamas politburo chief, to carry on his post.
Shaath, member of the central executive board of al-Fatah and Palestinian chief negotiator, told AA correspondent on Monday that the Fatah Movement would like Mashal to continue to be the Hamas politburo chief as he was an important support to accommodate reconciliation between the two movements.
He said that Mashal was aware of the political realities with his experience and relations and had a real desire for a reconciliation.
Refusing the news regarding al-Fatah had been worrying about a possible leader change in Hamas, Shaath said that al-Fatah was pro-democracy and would respect the leader Hamas would select.
He added that ruling Justice & Development (AK) Party set an important model for the Arab countries and Turkey had been reflecting a true form of political Islam that the leaders in the region should take lessons from it's democratic and pluralist structure.Güncelleme Tarihi: 01 Ekim 2012, 14:08
