Gaza says Egypt to ease passage from Rafah border gate

World Bulletin / News Desk

Egypt will ease Palestinians' passage from Rafah border gate starting by Friday.

Gaza Border Gate Director, Maher Abu Subhe, told AA correspondent on Friday that they were promising more ease, such as longer working hours, increase in the number of travellers and keeping the border open on Fridays regarding passages from Rafah border gate.

Subhe said that the gate was open for 8 hours a day and daily passenger number was limited with 1000 previously.

Egypt authorities did not make any announcement on the issue.

Egypt had re-opened Rafah crossing bidirectionally on August 25 that was closed following the attack which killed 16 Egyptian soldiers at Egyptian-Israeli border post.
