Israeli forces arrested at least six Palestinians in the village of Burin near the West Bank city of Nablus after overnight clashes with the Palestinian villagers left one Israeli soldier wounded and an Israeli military vehicle damaged.
"The Israeli forces chased the youths in the village and captured dozens of them," Walid Eid, the head of Burin village council, told Anadolu Agency on Wednesday morning.
"The Israeli forces released most of them and kept only six," he added.
The detainees were identified as Uday Yasser Mansour, 24, Nasr Nafea Mansour, 22, Ratan Zidan Najjar, 25, Moris Wlid Eid, 22, Yasser Mohamed Eid, 22, and Yazeed Mahmoud Dakhel, 21.
Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian State official, said several Palestinian civilians suffered from suffocation after Israeli forces fired tear gas at them.
"The Israeli forces searched around 25 homes in the village," he told AA.
The village is the scene of almost daily clashes between Palestinians and the Israeli army.
