Scores of Palestinians on Friday suffered temporary asphyxiation when Israeli army forces forcibly dispersed anti-occupation protesters in parts of the occupied West Bank.
Israeli forces fired live ammunition and teargas to disperse Palestinians who had gathered in several West Bank towns for weekly demonstrations against the decades-long Israeli occupation and a separation wall built by the self-proclaimed Jewish state in the West Bank, according to the Popular Resistance Committee, which regularly organizes anti-occupation rallies.
Israeli forces have prevented Friday's protests from reaching the separation wall, the committee said in a statement.
There has been no comment by Israeli authorities.
Palestinians stage weekly protests on Friday against ongoing Israeli settlement building and the separation wall, which snakes across the occupied West Bank, isolating large swathes of Palestinian territory.
The weekly rallies are typically dispersed by force by the Israeli army.
According to the Palestinian government in Ramallah, the separation wall effectively cuts some 50,000 Palestinian residents of occupied East Jerusalem off from the city center.
