Israeli army forces on Friday fired into agricultural fields located on the outskirts of the blockaded Gaza Strip, eyewitnesses have said.

Eyewitnesses said that Israeli forces stationed on the border with the coastal strip had fired into farmland near the Jabalia refugee camp causing minor damage to agricultural crops, eyewitnesses told The Anadolu Agency.

Israeli forces also fired into agricultural land near the town of Abasan in the southern Gaza Strip, according to eyewitnesses.

The Israeli army has yet to comment on the incidents.

The self-proclaimed Jewish state has conducted several limited incursions into the Gaza Strip since the signing of an August 26 cease-fire deal with Palestinian factions, which ended Israel's seven-week military offensive on the coastal enclave.

The Israeli onslaught, which lasted from July 7 to August 26, left 2,160 Palestinians dead – the vast majority of them civilians – and more than 11,000 injured.
