Israeli troops have shot and injured a Palestinian man twice in the hand on Saturday near the village of Beit Ur al-Tahta west of Ramallah, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in a report to Ma'an.
An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma'an that Israeli forces shot the Palestinian after he allegedly stabbed and lightly injured an Israeli soldier on Route 443.
PRCS said an ambulance was sent to aid the Palestinian man, who is currently in Israeli custody. According to witnesses large numbers of Israeli military vehicles arrived in the area after the shooting.
The incident follows the killing of another Palestinian who was shot dead following his alleged involvement in a stabbing attack that left an Israeli civilian lightly wounded.
Anas Muntaser Taha, 20, from the village of Qutna northwest of Jerusalem, was killed when Israeli forces opened fire "to prevent the suspect from escaping," an Israeli army spokesperson said.
