An Israeli tank shell killed a Palestinian and wounded two others close to the border fence in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, medical officials at a Gaza hospital said.
Adham Abu Selmeya, spokesman for medical services in Gaza, issued a statement saying the blast was an Israeli tank shell.
Palestinian medics said the victim had been sifting through rubble for steel and cement to recycle, south of the Karni border crossing with Israel, when an Israeli tank fired a shell.
Last Tuesday, another Palestinian killed and two others wounded by Israeli tank shell close to the border fence in the Gaza Strip.
Residents of the town of Beit Hanoun in the northern part of the Gaza Strip said the three men had been scouring a field for scrap near the border and had been hit by shell fragments.
