Palestinian resistance fighters on Tuesday seized an Israeli unmanned aerial drone that had crashed earlier in the day in the southern Gaza Strip, a Gazan security source said.

"An Israeli Sky Rider drone crashed about 500 meters from the border between Rafah [in Egypt] and Israel," the source told Anadolu Agency.

"Palestinian resistance fighters managed to seize it and move it to a safe place," he said, without stating the group whose fighters reportedly took the drone.

The Gaza government has yet to comment on the reports.

Earlier Tuesday, Israeli daily The Jerusalem Post reported that the drone had gone down due to a "technical error."

Israeli drones have been sighted flying over the crash site, an Anadolu Agency reporter said.
