A Palestinian man died after being shot during clashes in the occupied East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan Tuesday night.

Ali Shyouki, 20, was injured by gunfire and died after ambulances were unable to reach him as roads had been blocked by Israeli forces due to the clashes, claimed the Silwan-based community activist group Wadi Hilweh Information Center.

Videos posted by the group showed large crowds of Palestinian youths holding an impromptu funeral, carrying his body through the streets, and chanting protest slogans.

The clashes that led to Shyouki's death came as roads around many East Jerusalem neighborhoods were closed off for the Jewish Yom Kippur holiday.

The Palestinian Ma'an news agency reported that four people were also injured in clashes in the town of Ar-Ram after raids by Israeli forces following an attack on Sunday that killed two Israelis.

The family of the alleged attacker, Muhammad Abu Sbeih, who was shot dead during the incident, lives in Ar-Ram.
