 A woman died in the West Bank city of Nablus on Monday of the swine flu virus, known as H1N1.

The new fatality brings to three the number of West Bank Palestinians who died of th virus within a week.

This is the first virus fatality in Nablus and the third in the West Bank since the beginning of this year, according to Khaled Qadri, a health official from Nablus.

He added that the new victim was a 32 year-old woman and that she died as she received medical treatment at Hadassah Medical Center in Israel.

Qadri noted that some residents of Nablus had contracted the virus in the past days, but received treatment and recovered.

An elderly Palestinian died of swine flu in Bethlehem earlier on Monday. Another man died of the same virus on Tuesday.
