Hussam al-Tawil, a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council in the Gaza Strip, died Wednesday from medical complications, officials said.
Al-Tawil passed away in Egypt after seeking medical treatment in the country. He was elected to the PLC in 2005 as an independent candidate, but with the support of Hamas, reported Ma'an News Agency.
Al-Tawil was also the secretary-general of the council of Arab Orthodox Churches.
