A senior Hamas leader said Monday that several parties were seeking a prisoner swap deal between the Palestinian group and Israel.
"It's premature to speak about a prisoner swap deal with Israel," Moussa Abu Marzouq told the private Maan television channel.
He said that Hamas would not unveil any information about Israeli soldiers it was holding until Israel fulfilled its obligations under an Egyptian-brokered cease-fire with Palestinian factions.
Israel accuses Hamas of capturing two soldiers during its 51-day military offensive on the Gaza Strip in July and August.
At least 2,160 Palestinians were killed and nearly 11,000 injured during the offensive, which came to a halt under an Egyptian-brokered cease-fire on August 26.
At least 73 Israelis – 68 soldiers and five civilians – were killed during the onslaught.
