Palestinian resistance group Hamas on Saturday described the death of former Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon as a "lesson for all tyrants".
"His death following an eight-year coma is a lesson for all tyrants," spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri told Anadolu Agency.
He said that the Palestinian people are in a "historic moment" after the death of "this criminal whose hands were stained with Palestinian bloods".
Sharon, 85, passed away on Saturday, eight years after falling into coma in 2006.
Sharon served in the war for Israel's creation in 1948 as an officer and commander. Following the inception of the Jewish state, he assumed various roles in the Israeli cabinet.
He had been serving as prime minister since 2001 when his incapacitation led to the end of his tenure in 2006.Güncelleme Tarihi: 12 Ocak 2014, 09:52
