A Turkish court has arrested 32 out of 56 people detained in operations conducted against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) over the past 20 days in the southeastern province of Şırnak, the Şırnak Governor's Office said on Wednesday.
The governor's office said in a statement that teams from its Counterterrorism Unit conducted nine separate operations in the Cizre, İdil and Silopi districts between Sept. 14 and Oct. 5 against the Democratic Patriotic Youth Council (DYGM), the PKK's youth branch. A total of 56 suspects have been taken into custody and 32 of them arrested.
The suspects are accused of involvement in terrorist activities such as organizing Molotov cocktail and rock attacks on security forces, public buildings and vehicles and disseminating PKK propaganda.
