The last round of elections in the Turkish parliament has given a decided vote for the AK party candidate Ismet Yilmaz being chosen Turkish parliament speaker. Yilmaz was elected president taking all votes from his own party with a total of 258 votes.
Deniz Baykal who was the leading opponent came runner up with 182 votes. Baykal also received votes from the HDP party, which some say was an estimated 53 votes. From his own party, he received 128-129 votes on last count.
Despite voting for their own candidate in the last round, MHP used 78 invalid votes.
