Ergenekon suspect Gen. Tuncer Kılınc surrendered to the court on Monday.
Kılınc was sentenced to 13 years, two months' imprisonment by the Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court last week.
Ergenekon is alleged to be a clandestine network of individuals nested within the state hierarchy that was ultimately aimed at overthrowing the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) government and some of whose members are currently on trial for multiple counts of murder and causing public disorder. Among the suspects are members of the military, businessmen and journalists.
I think this report should refer to him as a convict (since he has been convicted) and not a suspect.
