A landmine planted by the PKK was detonated by a remote control device in the district of Karliove in Bingol province whilst a military vehicle passed over it. Three soldiers were killed and ambulances arrived on the scene shortly after.

Taking place roughly 30 km away in the locality of Haccilar, the explosion claimed the life of three soldiers as well as injuring six others. There were also clashes between soldiers and PKK fighters. It was during the clashes that ambulance took away the injured.
