Deputy Chairman of and Spokesperson for the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party, Huseyin Celik on Thursday said that a Prime Ministry motion which authorized the Turkish government for a year to send Turkish troops abroad and one that was approved by the Turkish Parliament was not about a war.
Speaking to reporters in the Turkish capital of Ankara, Celik said that they would protect Turkey's borders, citizens and interests as the Turkish government and state.
"This is what the Prime Ministry motion was about," Celik stressed.
"I want to remind the Turkish citizens that they should not be in a panic about a possible war," Celik also said on Thursday after Syrian artillery shells landing in the south-eastern town of Akcakale killed 5 Turkish citizens and wounded 9 others on Wednesday.
