A senior prosecutor was searching the offices of communications watchdog in a probe over allegations that telephone lines of the country's two highest courts had been tapped illegally.

A senior prosecutor was searching the offices of Turkey's communications watchdog in a probe over allegations that telephone lines of the country's two highest courts had been tapped illegally.

Acting Chief Prosecutor Nuri Yigit arrived in the morning at the headquarters of the Telecommunications Directorate to search for evidence at the offices in the investigation into wire-tapping allegations at the Court of Appeals and the Council of State.

A group of three experts accompanied the prosecutor.
