The country's top export items in 2013 were aircraft, helicopter parts, engines, armored land vehicles, speed boats, missiles, rockets, launching platforms, light weapons and electronic systems including transmitters, simulators, sensors and software.
Turkey’s weapon imports rose to $1.2 billion in 2012, up from $900 million the previous year, putting it in fourth place after India, China and the United States, respectively, according to data recording major arms transactions worldwide collected by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.
