The Presidency dismissed claims that appeared in a Turkish newspaper on Wednesday that President Abdullah Gül was hospitalized due to having been poisoned.
“The claims concerning the medical condition of the president are totally groundless,” read a statement released by the Presidency.
Gül was hospitalized on Aug. 23 because of a recurring ear problem. He cut short a visit to Kyrgyzstan for the Second Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS) in Bishkek, a visit he had begun last Wednesday.
