Turkey names new undersecretary to intelligence unit

Turkey appointed a new undersecretary to its intelligence organization on Tuesday.

Turkey designated Dr. Hakan Fidan, the deputy undersecretary of the National Intelligence Organization (MIT), as the undersecretary of the same organization.

Fidan will replace Emre Taner, who will resign due to age limit.

Hakan Fidan had served as the undersecretary to the prime minister for two and a half years before he was appointed as the deputy MIT undersecretary the previous month.

Earlier, Fidan served as the head of the Turkish International Cooperation & Development Agency (TIKA).
