Turkish foreign ministry on Wednesday urged the UN team in Syria to investigate the latest claims of chemical weapons attack in Syria.

"If the claims are true, it is inevitable for international community to react against that and show its required stance on this unacceptable cruelty which is a crime against humanity," Turkish foreign ministry said in a statement.

The ministry also noted that "we have been anxiously following the news regarding the attack with using chemical weapons by Assad forces in Domescus' West and East Ghouta region last night."

In the statement which indicated the urgency of clarifying the claims, the ministry said, the UN investigation team which has been currently in Syria to investigate whether chemical weapons were used or not, should conduct a research and reveal the facts.

Syrian Revolution General Commission (SRGC) claimed Assad forces on Tuesday attacked Ghouta, the eastern suburb of Damascus, with chemical weapons, killing 635 people and wounding over 3,600.

Syrian Local Coordination Committee (LCC) defined the attacks as "massacre" and is worried over the number of casualties increasing due to lack of medical supplies in field hospitals.
