Turkey's main opposition party held extraordinary convention

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu addressed his party members and delegates in Ankara during the 15th Extraordinary Convention of his party.

"I am calling on all my citizens to unite under CHP roof if they want to be a part of solution. This will be a roof of freedom. There will be democracy, freedom and tolerance here," he underlined.

"Turkey is passing through a different process. Pessimism replaced optimism. There is hopelessness instead of hope. Many people are afraid of future. There is no place for pessimism in CHP ruling," Kilicdaroglu said, adding that they wish for a Turkey where songs of peace and freedom are sung.

Kilicdaroglu said, "from now on, CHP will speak and listen to people more and would be more resolute on solution of problems."

"We will not establish future on the mistakes of the past. We will continue on our path with common mind," Kilicdaroglu said and underlined that young people and women would take place more from now on.

Kilicdaroglu said, "I am calling on women. It is CHP which gave right to elect and be elected to women. CHP is your political house. Four million women are illiterate. This is the shame of politicians that failed to ensure economic freedom."

CHP chairman said Turkish Republic was a secular and democratic and social state of law, "this is among the irrevocable provisions. CHP will enliven social state concept which was forgotten."
