Turkey's PM meets with AK Party mayors

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with mayors of metropolitan areas elected from his Justice and Development Party (AK Party).

The meeting, which lasted about three hours, took place on Wednesday at the prime ministerial residence in the capital. The mayors and the prime minister exchanged opinions on the party's strategy for the June 12 general election campaign. Interior Minister Beşir Atalay and AK Party Deputy Chairman Hüseyin Tanrıverdi also attended the meeting.

İstanbul Mayor Kadir Topbaş, Ankara Mayor Melih Gökçek, Bursa Mayor Recep Altepe, Sakarya Mayor Zeki Toçoğlu, Kocaeli Mayor İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu, Konya Mayor Tahir Akyürek, Kayseri Mayor Mehmet Özhaseki, Samsun Mayor Yusuf Ziya Yılmaz, Erzurum Mayor Ahmet Küçükler and Gaziantep Mayor Asım Güzelbey were present at the meeting.
