Turkey's PM warns governors against PKK provocations towards votes

Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned governors against imminent provocative attacks by PKK towards upcoming general elections of June.

Addressing a meeting of governors in Ankara on Thursday, Erdogan said "there were indicators suggesting terrorist organization PKK would stage provocative attacks, aimed at influencing the general elections, urging governors to be alert against such attempts."

He said "all the new schools, hospitals, housing complexes, highways and all the services provided, spoiled the efforts of the terrorist organization to exploit the lack of such things."

"Terrorist organization, which sees that the areas it has been exploiting are eradicated on by one, and its loosing ground, wants to intensify its provocative attacks," said Erdogan urging all governors in the East and West of Turkey to foil such plots with respect to rule of law and principles of democracy.
