Turkey's main opposition party, the Republican People's Party (CHP), will apply to the country's top legal body for invalidation of some laws.
CHP will request the Constitutional Court to invalidate or cancel some articles of the law amending the Cooperatives Law; the law amending the Mining Law; the law on Veterinary Services, Plant Health, Foodstuff and Feed; the law amending the Municipalities Law and the law amending the Sequestration Law.
As for the law amending the Cooperatives Law, the CHP will request cancellation of articles enabling to determine the principles regarding election and duties of inspectors and articles authorizing the Ministry of Public Works and Housing to dismiss executives of cooperatives.
CHP will object to articles of the Mining Law allowing mine detecting activities in wildlife areas.
In its objection to the law on Veterinary Services, Plant Health, Foodstuff and Feed, the opposition party will request invalidation of articles restricting pet shops to sell medical products only for pets and plants and allowing only veterinarians to inspect meat and meat products.
CHP will also request the Constitutional Court to invalidate articles of the law amending the Municipalities Law authorizing municipalities to create areas of housing, industry, trade and technology parks; and articles of the law amending the Sequestration Law including restrictions in payment of the sequestration cost.
