The Night of Destiny or the Night of Power - Laylat al-Qadr – was celebrated in mosques across Turkey and the world.
Laylat al-Qadr is celebrated as the anniversary of the night Muslims believe the first verses of the Quran were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. It is usually celebrated on the 27th night of the holy month of Ramadan.
The Qur'an says that this night is better than a thousand months (97:3), and that on this night the angels descend to earth.
